Conference Chair: Mahesh Joshi, School of Management

Mahesh P. Joshi is an Associate Professor of Management. Mahesh received his Ph.D. in Strategic Management and International Management from Temple University, Philadelphia, PA. Prior to receiving his Ph.D., he received his BS degree from Bombay University in Mathematics and Operations Research and also obtained a post graduate diploma in International Business from Xavier Institute of Management. Dr. Joshi's research interests include Technology and its relation to strategic change, corporate entrepreneurship, and the role of middle managers in strategic changes and post-deregulation global strategic changes. Additionally, he has researched in the area of business continuity planning, corporate governance and role of institutional investors in corporate governance. Recently he has focused on manufacturing strategies and its relationship to firm performance and the new communication technologies (such as the Internet) and its effect on Technology Service Organizations. He has published articles in journals such as Strategic Management Journal, Long Range Planning, Journal of Operations Management, Corporate Governance: An International Review, Competitive Intelligence Review, New England Journal of Entrepreneurship, Journal of International Management, International Journal of Production Research, and Journal of Management Education. Mahesh is also actively involved in reviewing academic research work for many journals. Among these are included, Academy of Management Journal and Production and Operations Management Journal. He is on the editorial board of New England Journal of Entrepreneurship.
Conference Chair: Roger Stough, School of Public Policy

Dr. Stough's educational background includes a BS in International Trade and Economics from Ohio State University; an MA in Economic Geography from the University of South Carolina; and a Ph.D. in Geography and Environmental Engineering from Johns Hopkins University. Dr. Stough has an extensive publication record, including several hundred scholarly and professional publications, 12 books and nearly 100 journal articles. Dr. Stough also has a wide range of graduate and undergraduate teaching experience, with over 30 years logged in eight separate institutions (including Johns Hopkins University, University of South Carolina, Indiana University, Leiden and Erasmus Universities in the Netherlands, George Mason University). He has extensive experience interfacing the University with the local, state, regional, national communities and international groups. He chairs a number of task forces, and advises a wide range of external programs and university policy boards.
Keynote Speaker: Sankaran Venkataraman

Sankaran Venkataraman is the MasterCard Professor of Business Administration at the Darden Graduate School of Business Administration, University of Virginia. He is a member of the Strategy, Entrepreneurship and Ethics area at Darden and teaches MBA and executive level courses in strategy and entrepreneurship. He has earned the “Outstanding Faculty Award” at Darden and was voted the “Most Popular Professor” at Business Week Online based on a poll of Darden students.
He is an internationally renowned scholar and educator in the field of entrepreneurship, has published extensively and has lectured around the world. He is the Editor of the Journal of Business Venturing. He consults with Fortune 500 firms as well as several small companies. He is advisor to the Entrepreneurial Forum, a program of the International Trade Administration of the U.S. Department of Commerce aimed at promoting trade through entrepreneurship around the world.
