Entrepreneurial Resources
Welcome. This page is designed to help you explore the world of entrepreneurship and the resources available at Mason and regionally that can turn your idea into reality. The Consortium for Entrepreneurship Education defines "resourcing" as the stage at which entrepreneurs identify and acquire the financial, human, and capital resources needed for venture startups. Acquiring the entrepreneurial skills necessary to create venture startups means understanding the concepts and processes associated with successful entrepreneurial performance. "Entrepreneurship is the process of uncovering an opportunity to create value through innovation, and entrepreneurs are rewarded for transforming knowledge into new products and bringing them to the market." Excerpt from the School of Public Policy web site.
You may already be an entrepreneur, "if your parents begged you to drop out of college after they saw how much money you were making with the business you started in your freshman dorm," says Jim Wolfe, Entrepreneur in Residence, School of Management. Looking for other entrepreneurs to network and share ideas with? Consider joining the Business Alliance of George Mason University. The Business Alliance provides a forum for business leaders, faculty and students to collaborate, network, and exchange ideas-preparing present and future leaders to overcome the marketplace's challenges. Among the most successful programs of the Alliance is the Grubstake Breakfast, which offers an opportunity for area early-stage companies to present their business plans to angel investors and venture capital sources of funding.
