What is the biggest challenge facing non-profit organizations? Talent.  In response to this challenge, the Charles G. Koch Charitable Foundation recently launched the Koch Associate Program.

The Koch Associate Program helps identify and develop up-and-coming leaders and entrepreneurs who are interested in advancing the understanding of why free societies are so effective in raising the standard of living of their citizens.  It provides the experience and education necessary for careers with market-oriented research centers, think tanks and policy institutes, and other non-profits.

The year-long program, based in Washington, D.C., allows Associates to work in the non-profit sector while learning and applying Market Based Management®, the management philosophy that enabled Koch Industries to become the largest privately held company in North America.

Associates spend four days each week working in non-profit positions and a fifth day immersed in the MBM® curriculum. The assignments range from policy analysis to marketing, and from operations to program management.

The program seeks Associates from diverse backgrounds with varying levels of experience.  Recent graduates as well as those with several years of work experience are welcome. This blend of participants, combined with the unique curriculum and varied assignments, creates an effective and unparalleled learning opportunity. Associates receive a competitive wage and benefits package commensurate with experience.

The Charles G. Koch Charitable Foundation was established in 1980 by Charles G. Koch. The mission of the Foundation is to advance social progress and well-being through the development, application and dissemination of the Science of Liberty™. History has shown that societies with greater economic freedom have more prosperity and an enhanced quality of life. This observation that a free society is uniquely suited to creating, fostering and sustaining peace and prosperity is fundamental to the science of liberty. The Foundation primarily supports research and education programs that analyze the impact of free societies, in particular how they advance the well-being of mankind. Building on this knowledge, the Charles G. Koch Charitable Foundation fosters the partnership of scientists and practitioners in order to integrate theory and practice. By doing so, the Foundation strives to develop market-based tools that enable individuals, institutions, and societies to survive and prosper.
