How did you start your business?

I founded my company with eight employees and financed its start-up with my personal savings.

How has your degree at Mason helped in your business?

Mason’s MBA program taught me how to grow my small niche technology business into a more robust enterprise. Specifically, I learned not only about managing people and building a employee-focused culture, but also about developing pragmatic strategies to grow my business systemically and how to evaluate performance quantitatively.

How did you become involved in the Business Alliance?

A colleague encouraged me to attend a Business Alliance event. I found the members to be interesting and dedicated. I was immediately energized by the opportunities to integrate the business and academic communities.

What advice would you give to other aspiring Patriot Entrepreneurs?

It’s often not the best idea that determines success; it’s the best execution of an idea.
